The relative calm of the day before was shattered early Feb. 2 when supporters of President Hosni Mubarak clashed with their fellow countrymen who have called for the president to step down.
The mob’s anger extended to the media. Photographer Peter van Agtmael, working for The Wall Street Journal, was attacked by a mob. Mr. Van Agtmael managed to escape, but his cameras were stolen and he was left with cuts and bruises.
