Short notice an attempt to sack me, claims Gobala

PETALING JAYA: Padang Serai (PKR) member of parliament N Gobalakrishnan believes that a “backdated” 45-page show-cause letter which he received on Jan 4 is an attempt to catch him offguard thus giving the party enough reason to sack him for not replying on time.
The show-cause letter, issued by PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, required Gobalakrishnan to explain within seven days, from Dec 31, his outbursts against his party on Twitter.

“I received a 45 page show-cause letter from Saifuddin dated Dec 31, 2010 asking me to reply within seven days. The date clearly shows that the letter is backdated so that the political bureau that is meeting can make a decision based on seven days notice.
“The secretary-general can then inform the political bureau that they have not received any reply from me and a decision will be made to sack me,” Gobalakrishnan told FMT by e-mail.
Elaborating further, he said in the past many leaders had been “unjustly” dealt with by the (PKR adviser) “Anwar (Ibrahim)/Azmin (Ali) cartel”.
“Among the leaders who have been unjustly dealth with by the Anwar/Azmin cartel are Zaid (Ibrahim), Jeffrey (Kitingan), Ezam (Mohd Nor), Ruslan Kassim, Lokman (Nor Adam) and many others.
“Anwar/Azmin capitalise on the strength of a leader and try to find ways to get rid of them when they do not follow their bad politics,” he said.
FMT had earlier reported Gobalakrishnan as saying that he had been given 14 days to reply and that he had requested a 45-day extension to allow him sufficient time to do so.
“The reason is I will be in India attending the Parvasi Barathiar Divas organised by the Indian Government and I will be only back on Jan 15.
“Later once I am back, I will be able to go through the show-cause letter and prepare my answer for it,” he said.
With regard to the Petaling Jaya City Council’s sealing-off of the Sivan temple on Gasing Hill to the public, Gobalakrishnan wants a small area of the temple, near its entrance, to be made accessible to the public to conduct prayers and other devotional activities.
